Welcome to the College Success Foundation.

Mission Statement
We provide college scholarships and mentoring to low-income, high-potential students.

Foundation-Sponsored Programs
The College Success Foundation currently administers five scholarship programs. As CSF receives new funding sources to establish additional scholarship programs, updated information will be included on our web site.

Washington State Achievers Program (WSAP)
CSF has partnered with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to offer Achievers Scholarships and mentoring support to approximately 500 highly motivated low-income students per year. Over a 13-year time frame, 5,000 Washington students will receive approximately 100 million dollars in scholarship support. These scholarships will be available to low-income students from 16 selected Washington high schools that have large percentages of low-income students and that commit to major school redesign based on the "Attributes of High Achievement Schools."

Chateau Ste. Michelle Scholarship Fund
The Chateau Ste. Michelle Scholarship Fund is an investment in the future of men and women striving to improve their lives through a university education. The scholarship benefits underrepresented minority students at the University of Washington and Washington State University. Chateau Ste. Michelle launched the program in 2002, based on the belief that a diverse, educated workforce is key to successful business in America and that financial constraints should not keep qualified underrepresented students from the opportunities for learning and discovery that are available from our state's leading universities. Chateau Ste. Michelle's scholars have an 85-90% graduation rate.

Though the University of Washington and Washington State University are century-long rivals, the institutions work together each year to enable more students to attend college. In partnership with Chateau Ste. Michelle and the College Success Foundation, the annual Chateau Ste Michelle Diversity Scholarship Dinner and Concert raises support for scholarships for high-achieving, underrepresented minority undergraduates at both universities. The 2008 event is scheduled for August 1, 2008.

Costco Scholarship Fund
The College Success Foundation has partnered with Costco Wholesale to provide scholarships for highly-qualified minority undergraduate students planning to attend Seattle University and the University of Washington. The funds raised for these scholarships are the result of a breakfast held each year. Interested students should contact the financial aid offices at the two universities to learn more about this scholarship.

GET Ready for Math and Science Conditional Scholarship Program

The College Success Foundation manages the selection process for the Get Ready for Math and Science Conditional Scholarship. Beginning with the class of 2010, low-income and middle-income high school students with top math and science test scores may be eligible to apply for up to four years of free college tuition through this publicly and privately funded program.

Governors' Scholarship Program
In 2004, 69 percent of young adults aging out of foster care in Washington State had not obtained a high school diploma. Nationally, less than three percent of former foster youth earn bachelor's degrees.

The Governors' Scholarship was established in 2001 by former Governor Gary Locke who remains a key supporter. Governor Christine Gregoire continues to support it and remains an advocate of the program. Scholarship funds are raised through the annual Governors' Cup Golf Tournament, organized by former Governor Locke, and other private donations. The College Success Foundation manages the Governors' Scholarship program.

By making a gift of $5,000 per year for four years, benefactors not only help students earn their degrees, they change lives.
